Career Transition
Our NEXT STEP programme provides
flexible career change/company exit support at a senior
level. In today’s sophisticated work environment
job displacement at a senior level can take many forms,
ranging from an individual wishing to initiate a career
change to a formal company initiated redundancy or severance.
NEXT STEP offers an adaptable and
flexible programme to enable individual goals and requirements
to be satisfied. Our modular approach takes delegates
through a highly personalised process aimed at both
preparing and guiding through the challenging journey
ahead.
The programme uses our partnership links to enable
maximum exposure and networking opportunities at an
appropriate level for those in the job market, along
with extensive support for participants who may wish
radical job change or retirement.
The core modules are summarised as follows:
Establishing the base line… is
the process of taking stock and putting events and situations
into perspective which can often require a mix of objective
and emotional support. Our use of one to one counseling
and instruments including the Career Anchors Questionnaire
will assist participants to rationalise the situation
understanding their strengths and preferences looking
forward and provide clarity for future personal objectives.
Preparing for the future… With
the emphasis now on the future this module will focus
on how the delegate will deliver and the tools, techniques
and knowledge required to succeed in the next step.
CV preparation, interviewing skills and our ‘streetwise
module’ will ensure that the delegates engaged
in the job market are fully prepared. Those who are
considering complete change will benefit from our new
directions module which considers radical career change,
self employment, consultancy, part-time working or retirement.
Making it happen… The more
effective the first two stages have been the greater
likelihood that the desired goal will be achieved in
the shortest time. In our experience this a critical
time when participants require support, a sounding board
and a reference point to enable them to retain a balanced
perspective. All too often that conventional outplacement
support dries up. When the desired next step has been
achieved our support in terms of advice and guidance
continues until the participant is fully operational
in the new situation.
The next step… Can be a long
and demanding journey, particularly if there is lack
of clarity in direction and insufficient knowledge of
the techniques and tools required for success. This
often applies to senior executives and board members
who may find themselves in this situation for the first
time in their working life.
The good news…..We can help
